I’ll keep this short: Decentralized Conversations-as-a-(Web)-Service. Interested? Can you write code?
If += yes here’s the rules,
*ALL* code will be released under a Creative Commons Attribution License. In other words, the only requirement is that whomever uses the code you might write gives you attribution. They can close the source, hide it in a dark corner of the Internet, and in other ways never be required to give back in the same way that you gave. In fact, some people might attempt to steal your code and call it their own.
Are you okay with that?
If += yes,
The project will be hosted on as many EC2 instances as necessary, and backed by SimpleDB. I’ll cover the costs, but the infrastructure is non-negotiable.
Are you okay with that?
If += yes,
The platform will be built on top of Blip Messaging.
Are you okay with that?
If += yes,
You’re not going to be paid a single penny for any code you might contribute.
Are you okay with that?
If += yes,
Here’s the basic idea. It’s built on top of blogging. It doesn’t require you have anything more than a blogging engine and a web hosting service provider to get involved. In other words, there’s no potential at gaining any sort of vendor lock-in advantages from the get go. This idea isn’t about cornering the “conversations market”. It’s about opening it up.
Just like email.
But with teeth… ;-)
Still interested?
If += yes,
The prototype will be hosted @ conversations.ws in a couple of weeks.
The code will be available at the same time.
To anyone.
To do with however they damn well please.
Still interested?
*EXCELLENT* > Send me an email. Most of the code is already written. Some of it isn’t. I could use your help to finish it out. After it’s done, you can do with it whatever you damn well please.
Just don’t lie and tell people these were your ideas, or that you wrote all the code. That’s lame. And if I find out there’s a good chance I’ll track you down and kick your a$$.
Or maybe I won’t.
Or maybe I will.
Haven’t decided yet. That’s cuz’ you haven’t lied about these being your ideas or suggesting that you wrote the code.
Yet.
If I were you, I wouldn’t, but maybe you’re tougher than me.
And maybe you’re not.
Time will always tell, and in the mean time…
If (+= yes) == true => you know how to get in contact.
Bye for now :D

Mark David,
I have only been asking you for months now!

@Ric,
>> I have only been asking you for months now!
I know, I know... The guilt's been killing me! :D Been bogged down with amp.fm and am only just now resurfacing. Will shoot you an email later this evening...
Is your email still out?
I am still waiting.....
@Ric,
After getting the "Could not be delivered" emails to your @opendomains address, I sent a follow-up to your hotmail but never heard back. Did you not get it?
