Sarah McLachlan - World On Fire
Update: I should point out the above video is several years old, but I was reminded of it while visiting Swivel recently and felt like this was just the kind of information that needed to be broadcast on a more regular basis.

So what’s this have to do with XML?
XML frees information. The above information is free.
Either that, or not a damn thing. And that’s okay.
On a related note, I sure wish there were more rock stars on this planet like Sarah McLachlan, don’t you?

Reading the final sentence just felt awesome.
Next time i play her CD i'll enjoy it even more.

@stelt,
>> Next time i play her CD i'll enjoy it even more.
And I the same :) It makes me wonder if the cover storey in this months issue of Paste Magazine is something that could actually come to being,
http://www.pastemagazine.com/action/article/4337/feature/music/can_rock_save_the_world
Some of the early quotes look naive in light of what's frequently achieved today, but in 1971 no one thought that rock stars would one day be twisting the arms of presidents or that presidents and prime ministers would have secret histories of playing guitars and saxophones.
Can rock/rock stars save the world? Seems to me that it's at very least possible, and that's pretty cool when you think about what being a rock star usually entails.

Nice! If any of you folks Stelt is refering to happen to read this,
Thank you!
Thanks for posting this, David. I know that some may find it out of context for this blog, but it's a good reminder and maybe a good provocation to do something - like sponsor a child somewhere. Google is your friend.
@Jeremy,
Thanks for the thanks! No doubt there are people who are annoyed by these kinds of posts but theres a good chance that these same people have never had to deal with life in the same way those represented in this video have had to deal with life. That's not to suggest that I wish they would. I wish that NOBODY had to deal with these kinds of things. But life doesn't work that way.
>> like sponsor a child somewhere. Google is your friend.
Yup!
Those numbers are absolutley amazing. Thank you for posting them. I know people are always helping but it's nice to see it all laid out like that.
It's amazing that after all that there is still so much work to be done. The surface isn't even scratched yet. Well if we keep banding together and doing our best than atleast the momentum will continue.
Thanks again!

Absolutely!
>> Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! :D
Great report.
Imagine what it would be like to suffer from starvation. Now, imagine that in addition to starving you are an orphan with no one to help you. Orphans are, without a doubt, the most helpless of our society. And they need our help desperately.
Please add our link to your site. Food for Orphans welcomes all who want to learn more about the plight of orphans and how we can help them survive.
