Complex, but useful
I'm the first to admit that UDDI is a complex animal. But it does what no other index or registry does -- it allows you to categorize things. WS-Inspection is perfect, as long as you know what you're looking for. But if you don't, then it helps to have a searchable registry like UDDI.
The public UDDI isn't making much headway, but private UDDI is growing in popularity. Businesses are using private UDDI to share services within an organization and with established business partners.
