Coming down the escalator a few minutes before 10am, I was pleasantly shocked to observe
attendees, 40-50 deep, waiting to get into the exhibit hall. You could sense the
excitement. And as the floor opened this energy spilled over into the O’Reilly booth with
visitors looking for the latest and most enduring titles. Our featured title,

In the vortex of all the activity, authors Luan Dang, Cullen Jennings, and David Kelly were
busy signing their book Practical VoIP Using
VOCAL. If the book signing is any indication, there seems to be intense interest in the
open source phone system Vovida Open Communication Application Library (VOCAL). And, a few
booths down VOVIDA.ORG, was demonstrating VOCAL.
