In an interesting case of life imitating art, Do Wa Diddy has become a popular cadence used by military units when marching. Thank goodness they haven’t adopted other aspects of military discipline as practice by John Winger in Stripes, although I’m sure he’d have Osama Bin Laden in custody by now if given use of an urban assault vehicle. If you want to be impressed, by the way, check out the acting resume of Warren Oates, Sergent Hulka in Stripes. From the Twilight Zone to The Wild Bunch, he was involved in many influential film and television projects up until he died in 1982.
