My guess is that if all the details came out for just about any survival situation, there would be plenty of unpleasant episodes that would be swept under the rug. Even on a show like SurvivorMan, you notice that he never discusses the difficulties of bathroom hygiene in the wild. But you gotta do what you gotta do. You just may not want to talk about it later…
