“You haven’t heard about big data-security lawsuits so far, but it’s just a matter of time” this paper claims. Is that really so? Folks predict that soon, really soon users will start suing vendors, attack victims hitting upon hackers and inadvertently liable parties, virus victims litigating just about everybody and so on. I’ve heard these predictions for years, but no major industry-shaking suit materialized. Is that a hint that they will never show up? Or is something simply missing from the industry that makes it attractive for lawyers?
