As I wrote in my last blog entry, I am amazed why the MyDoom worm is the “fastest ever” if it requires users to manually infect themselves. This article provides some insights, but I still think the mystery largely remains. The main claim there seems to be the “social engineering” aspect, but I still find it hard to believe that many users love clicking on obscure system-looking attachments with binary files… The fact of using Kazaa also doesn’t seem to be a major driver as it requires users to run the file manually.
