Ever since I saw Charlie Savage’s blog post about ruby-prof 0.4.0, I’ve been thinking about how great it was to see faster and better profiling tools (how cool are cross-referenced call graphs?). Now that I’m writing up my talk for RubyConf*MI , I’ve been looking a little bit deeper. I’m constantly amazed at how many tools are floating around out there for Ruby developers. What are your favorites?

Ruby-prof is definetely great, I love calling graphs. I think Charlie Savage really explained things well.

If you apply a patch (http://rubyforge.org/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1700&aid=11497&group_id=426) then you can track object allocations per function call--useful for memory stuffs.
