I loved Mauricio Fernandez’s new post about rcov. I’m convinced that rcov and unit testing go well together, I’m using rcov to verify my coverage on projects at work, and on projects I work on in my spare time.

Mauricio says that he’s got some new features in line for his 0.4.0 release. Sounds like something worth waiting for — hopefully we don’t have to wait too long.

(Thanks to Sean Carley for pointing it out.)

update
Shortly after I posted this, Zed posted a message to the Rails mailing list letting us know he’s using rcov to look at mongrel’s tests now. You can see his coverage at mongrel.rubyforge.org/coverage/. When I asked him about it, he said “Yeah, [rcov’s] pretty sweet. All that’s needed is a gem and the rake task.”
