The new Google AdSense campaign has made a lot of ripples throughout the blogging world. Let me make a proposal. If you feel so inclined to ad GoogleAds to your personal or hobby weblog why not send the cash to the Electronic Frontier Foundation?
If you have a readership that prizes freedom on the internet, and what greater freedom is there than speech, why not support the EFF with an effortless act that, en masse, could help them fight for your freedom online?

The Google AdSense code can be used on *any* web page so EFF should sign up for Google AdSense and then have a blurb on their site that says "You can support EFF by including this code snippet on your page." Then the money for clicks will go directly into EFF's AdSense account. I'm wondering if this might become yet another new way for people to support sites that they like.
Instead of sending the cash...
The drawback to this is that the code snippet would end up on pages that the EFF did not control.
I would give it about a week before the EFF was banned from Adsense.
A good idea ... but also bad.
Adsense words produce no rearnings for the bloggers
First of all let me tell all that adsense adwords produce a lot of impressions for the advertisers on the adwords on the blogs. But Google pays no cash for impressions and the impressions produce no clicks. This is my experience4 after two weeks of posting Google Ads on two of my blogs.
But some people have a lot of nerve asking people to donate their earnings to any body let alone to RIAA for suing those who it accuses of piracy. I'm not a music fan and I don't download anything let alone music CDs and Videos.
But those who download have a perfect right to do so. The RIAA has a right to stop the downloading but not by suing those engaged in Piracy. I've suggested a way to make the piracy thing of the past.
The way is detailed on several of the blogs. I'm listing three of them. It needs financing to develop the ways. Instead of asking the Donation from the public the music companies like Sony, BMW should be donating $5Million each to develop the technology that will make the Piracy a thing of the past.

How much Money has Electronic Frontier Foundation recieved from Google Adsense donations. What does this Foundation do with this money. I hope the foundation help develop the way internet service should have been delivered. Not the way it is being delivered. If it has collected Donations of $5,000,000 It should donate the money to newerawisp so that he can use it as seed capital start the development of a server oriented internet service in which the client's role will be limited to communicating with the server and the server will not send any documents stored in the servers. Thus the servers will not disclose any passwords or any other information and the server will keep an account of whoever logged on to the server (including his IP address).
My heart breaks when people ask for donations without disclosing what the money is for.
