Why eBay Sucks

I sold some stuff on eBay for the first time. When I received the bill, I signed up for it to be paid automatically via my PayPal account. Life's great, eh?

Not so fast. A month later, eBay hits me with late fees and puts my eBay account on hold. Turns out, they didn't debit PayPal automatically as I'd asked them to. Instead, I was supposed to divine that auto-pay works only for invoices received after auto-pay is set up.

You might say that is predictable. In fact, that is how my bank works. When I sign up for e-bills or auto-pay, my bank warns that it might not kick in right away and that I should pay manually for the next billing cycle.

So here is my defense:

eBay and PayPal are part of the same company. Someone should be able to figure this out.

Not convinced? Fine, either was I. So when I first signed up for auto-pay, I asked eBay customer service when my account would be debited. They said it would happen in 5 or 10 days. They mentioned nothing about it *not* happening in the first billing cycle. Obviously, I was asking about that because people who had been using the service for more than a month wouldn't be asking the question!

Still not convinced? Fine, you're a skeptic. So am I. So when I didn't notice a debit (shortly before the payment was due--30 days after the invoice was sent), I again contacted customer support at eBay. Should I pay manually, I asked? No, they said, that would just result in a double payment and confuse everyone.

Okay, so I'm a lunatic raging against the machine, right? No, nothing of the sort. I calmly contacted customer service, asked them to remove the late fee and reinstate my account. Everyone makes mistakes, and they were entitled to a second chance.

Instead, they gave me the runaround through 10 emails, refusing to credit (drum roll please....) 8 cents! They insisted that because I wouldn't accept blame for their systems' limitations that I somehow did not understand them. The coup de grace (sp?) was their customer service rep (ironically named "Grace") chastising me to make sure I wouldn't let this happen again in the future.

So to summarize, eBay customer service sucks even worse than their software.

Can anyone recommend a better auction site with a liquid market in BrixWear T-shirts?

Give me your eBay horror stories.

EBAY is a b*tch. I've been shut down from two different users as a seller, since they shop/bid instead. I recently just bought a 'touch screen' mp4 for my little brothers as a gift. Well turns out that the 'touch screen' was not one after. I tried getting the dispute done through paypal but the case suddenly close on my stating that I provide fraud shipping information. I PAID 11 DOLLARS TO GET THAT GODDAMN THING SHIPPED BACK FOR MY REFUND AND I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THE OWNER OTHER THAN HIS LAST EMAIL STATING HE HAS NOT RECEIVED THE ITEM...ITS BEEN MORE THAN A MONTH NOW!! I AM PISS AT EBAY AND STUPID PAYPAL! I TRIED LEAVING A BAD FEEDBACK ON THE OWNER PAGE BUT IT NOW STATES THAT THERE WAS NO TRANSCATION WITH THEM...WTF!!!!

THERE IS AN EBAY ALTERNATIVE--EBID.NET TRY IT NOW !!! said:

Ebid lists in 18 countries--they offer free lifetime membership--and if you are a seller get the seller PLUS lifetime membership--this will not be around for long as it is an introductory price--you will never pay a fee for listing and never pay a final value fee ever again--also try google checkout--Paypal is another greedy ebay venture that is a HUGE rip off. I just signed up for Ebid.net as a lifetime Plus seller and find the site is easier to use than ebay with less restrictions. For an up front $49. you will never ever pay a fee again for your lifetime!!!! It will take every last one of us to reject ebay and start using Ebid. It's the best Ebay alternative out there--stop complaining and hit them where it hurts...Please do it now...I did.

DirecTV VRO digital rights posting in EBay applied only to access cards. EBay closed auction for my owned DirecTV receiver without access card citing VRO request from DirecTV. No recourse with EBay who set my account one step from suspension. I took the opportunity to suspend EBay instead and closed all accounts.

Ebay has become a million pound gorilla in the room. Everything they were proud of initially is going out the window. They said buyers and sellers rate each other through feedback-I think it's safe to say that does not really apply anymore. The only feedback that must be positive is EBAYS about YOU. The Sellers on Ebay (who pay Ebay's salary) are loathed by Ebay. They don't trust sellers and they never really have it appears. They don't think they are making big enough profits right now so they are forcing EVERYONE to use both of the companies they own. I really wish somebody else would do what they do and keep in mind who they work for. Have you heard of Buyer Protection? Ever heard of Seller Protection? They put real businesses that people depended upon out of business and are now telling them to hit the pavement. Please God Help Us!

they lie and ruin people lives, there staff are thick arrogant abusive and threatening.
i am glad ebay is loosing money and axing 1600 jobs i hope another company take over ebay reign and the founder is left now with nowt.

this may sound harsh but when a company is allow to threaten and ruin people lives then something needs to be done.

ebay is not for genuine sellers but for all the con artist who rip members of and the the people who sell fake items

I'm very upset with my husband for using eBay to buy his dream camera from USA which cost him $3300!!! He paid it via PayPal in June 2008, and up to now he still doesnt get his camera. Response from the seller, his bank and PayPal are suck! They keep asking him to wait, I think until he forget about it. But grrr...I'll never forget about that money. That's enough for a nice vacation

Anyone can help us to get the money back?

Check this out!!!

I was made aware of a new company, set to launch in November '08 that is breaking into the e-commerce world.
I saw the site, understand the concept, and I am completely syked about it. EBay is going to be a thing of the past.
The economy isn't so great. Nobody is buying. Sales are way down from last year. Who wants prices that are continually increasing?! As a buyer--not me, I want the best deal I can get, and I am usually shopping around online to find it, visiting different websites, comparing costs online and in-store. As a seller--I need to get some things sold, and the auction/bidding format, is just not doing it for me.
The solution? 4Sale4Now.com -- I have NEVER seen anything like this site before, because there IS nothing like it! They have taken a firm grasp on the issues that are plaguing buyers and sellers alike.
With this website, there is NO bidding, there are incredible deals to entice buyers to keep coming back, and sellers will be doing exactly what they are trying to do.... SELL!
I don’t know about you, but I have been looking for the next great thing, and I think I found it. They have a long line of sellers anxiously waiting to upload their products. From what I hear, they will allow back-end access to sellers to start uploading products to the site starting in October, once they kick-off in November; all will be ready to go.

CAN SOME ONE HELP !!!
My Ebay store( min7man *1453)” A Walk in The Past “ was closed on August 4 2008. Ebay said it was because of to many negative feedback but my feedback is at 98.1%. I had over 2400 article in my store that cost me between $3 and $7 each to list . My store inventory was in the $200.000.00 mark +. I have invested way over $60.000.00 and 5 years of my time purchasing article for my Ebay store. I employ 2 full time and 1 part time employees . I work my Ebay from an office that I rent and turn it into a Ebay store. also included in my office is 3 running computer that I use to list and work my Ebay store from . I also had to rent a large storage falacitie for my Ebay store out of town because of the 10000’s of article that I have bought over the years to resale on Ebay and I also work Ebay from home witch is also turn into an office and Ebay storage . Ebay was my only income and know they shut me down . I had sales daily in my store and making from $1.500.00 to $4.000.00 a month . I also have grief with Paypal . I lost over $1000.00 last years because Paypal refunded buyers that never send me back my parcel and pay pal’s policy is that the other party have to supply proof of shipping with a tracking number or anything else . In 3 or 4 case of mine no tracking number was ever supply and Paypal still refunded them the full amount and they end up keeping the parcel too. I call Paypal and they told me to work it out with the other party that perhaps a mistake was done and they offer no help at all . I send Ebay a few emails in the last month but all I got was email from Ebay telling me that I deserved what has append to me . I was a power sellers and a silver member 2 months ago . I got a phone call from an Ebay reprehensive to congratulate me on being a New Ebay Silver member . Instead of Thanking her I told her how I lost over $1000.00 last years because of how Ebay and Paypal operates and after bitching at her for about 45 minutes she thanked me and told me that she would direct my complaints to the right departments. I guess she did just that and took it upon her self the Shut me down . Telling some one there fault should not be just cause to close my store down . I have send the above email to about 20 Ebay reprehensive in the hope that some one may help me but it’s been over 3 days and Not one reply yet . There more people complaining about Ebay then me . So why don’t the Government get involve and close them down for a few months to see how they would feel .
Can some one help ?
What can I do ?

I have bills coming in everyday and 3 rent to pay .

Dear Ebay representative.

On Monday August 4 2008 my Ebay store Min7man “A walk In The past” was shut down perhaps by accident

Over the past two years min7man “A Walk In The Past” has generated an annual revenue of $15.000.00 and over and has served over 1400 clients. From the early days of operation “A Walk In The Past” has grown from 5 sales per month to sometimes 75 per month with expansions planned for the fall and winter of this year, many clients have been very satisfied with my service and some of their feedback is included below:1-shipped at a reasonable rate and item was packed very well exactly as advertised.
2-exact item , very good packing, very fast shipping, recommended seller
3-Well packaged and received in due time. Interesting item for collector.
4-Everything wonderful! fast shipping! Well packed Great seller! Thanks!! A+++
5-Product just as described Fast shipping Highly Recommended E-Bayer Thank you A++
6-fast and professional
7-Item as described...shipped promptly,.promptly credited accidental overpayment
8-Excellent seller. Wonderful items, well packaged. Thanks so much! 10/10
9-excellent condition of item, good price ,fair shipping cost
10-OUTSTANDING SELLER. Pleasant to work with. Beautiful plate, carefully packaged.

I believe there may have been an error or some technological glitch that may have caused “A Walk In The Past” to be shut down and any exploration of the matter would be greatly appreciated.

seller (cindys_basement).
Feb.28,2008 Payment To C&M Collectibles Completed -$41.99 USD

I purchased the item, which are electronic digital calipers.

His auction (Mark A.) represented the item as fully working and in very good condition.

When I received them and tried to use them, I would often get an "error" message on the LCD display. Initially, if I reset the unit, the error message would go away. A nusance, but I could still make some measurments with them. The problem got worse and was so bad, that I could not reset them. The "error" was displayed constantly.

I contacted Mark Albino the seller, and described the problem. On my first call attempt, I got his son, who was fairly rude to me on the phone. I became worried that I might be dealing with slippery people. When I did get in contact with Mark Albino, he told me to mail them back (he refused to pay for return shipping) and if they were not working as described, he would refund my money.

I sent them back. Nothing happened for weeks. I contacted him again to see what the status of the return was. He then told me that he sent them out to a shop to have them checked out. He told me that they were fine when he tried to use them. I am an electronics engineer... I know when something is not working, so I knew now that he was playing with me and that I was now in a nightmare situation.

Upon finding out that the units were in a repair shop, I imediately asked Mark for the contact information of the shop. I figured that if they were in the shop, I wanted to make sure they would get fixed properly. He never forwarded the info to me. I asked him for the contact info a number of times and he refused to give it to me. I believe he never sent the calipers out. He just let them sit there for awhile and then told me that this "shop" also found them to be working.

He then wanted to return the calipers to me, and wanted me to pay the shipping again. I don't want the calipers. They don't work as he represented them in his auction. I want my money back. So at this time, he has both my money and the mis-represented calipers.

The crazy thing is, I can't figure out how such a person could get such a high favorable rating with so many transactions.

Thanks for reading,
roy

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ON THIS EARTH SOMEONE ELSE AS GLITTERING AND AS GOOD AS EBAY DOES EMERGE AS A FORCE IN THE AUCTION BUSINESS! COULD IT BE BECAUSE EBAY HAS INSTANTLY PURCHASED ANY POSSIBLE COMPETITOR! THEY WANT TO BE LIKE AMAZON, AND SELLERS WANT TO BE ABLE TO RETURN TO AUCTIONS AGAIN! Something has got to give and not sell out to ebay and become the next way for all of us to sell!
Ebay is my life and I have 2 children to feed and huge bills. Amongst the terrible economy and sagging sales, users are not coming back and there is little or no growth right now. So as sellers are eliminated as they become amazonbay Buyers are free to shop around and see whats out there! I have never in my life of witnessing auction is there an opportunity to start a better type of ebay. Where are the investors and why is this not happening now!

This might not be considered newsworthy by a lot of people, but I’d love for someone to look into Ebay’s policy of arbitrarily and capriciously limiting seller accounts for no apparent reason. I know that this sounds like a disgruntled Ebay user (and to a certain extent that’s correct!), but the quick story is that I started selling my Camel Zippo lighter collection on Ebay, have paid my bills, and have garnered 100% positive feedback, but am now prohibited from selling Zippos for an indeterminate length of time. I’ve got email plenty of correspondence back and forth, and one thing that I can tell you from that correspondence is that Ebay has assured me repeatedly that the restrictions on my account aren’t any kind of disciplinary action, or because of anything I did or didn’t do. It’s just an “institutional initiative” that they’ve initiated. One thing that became apparent though is that when I question them, they retaliate by making the length of the restriction longer. It started out as a 30 day restriction. It’s been longer than 30 days since that first restriction was instituted, and their latest response to my inquiry is “We suggest contacting us after 90 days to review your account again; during this time, you will have the opportunity to further build a positive selling history on eBay and to comply with all policies.” (again……I have 100% positive feedback)

I know that this isn’t earth-shaking news and that most people might not be interested in this, but if this is happening to me, it’s got to be happening to a lot of other people, and Ebay has made it abundantly clear that;

a) They don’t have to explain their reasons to me
b) I have no recourse
c) They’re going to do whatever they want to do

If I had violated a rule or policy, I could understand a restriction, but to the best of my knowledge, I haven’t. Although my last letter to them wasn’t particularly polite, (it wasn’t profane; just not particularly polite anymore) prior to that I had taken pains to try to explain things clearly and concisely, and asked very simple questions. Their reply is always very vague, general, and absolutely no help. The only thing that changes is the length of the restriction, and Surprise Surprise!!! No one will step up and explain or take responsibility for that either.

I’d love to hear from other readers that have had problems with Ebay. I’m sure that nothing that I or anyone else writes will change the way they treat their customers, but I’d still enjoy being able to forward more examples of customer abuse and see if they’ll address them. If you’ve got other blogs on this subject, let me know and I’ll include their links, and if you’ve got a story, leave a note and I’ll get back to you.

I quit PayPal as a buyer today (some of you may not be disappointed as (former?) sellers) over their demand that buyers link a bank account or debit card, after a cumulative total threshold of credit card payments is reached. This will hurt sellers, too, especially if eBay goes to a policy of "PayPal only" for sellers, as I've heard they're planning to do or considering now. I hope sellers will object for yourselves and your buyers. I believe a lot of buyers like me will not be willing to let anyone have a link to our bank accounts, directly or through a debit card, so eBay is likely hurting itself more than any added revenue from others will help it.

I'm really tired of Ebay's fees and of the way they treat their sellers. I'm sure there are plenty of Ebay sellers that have been with the from the start that regret supporting this company. I still sell on Ebay but I also sell on offertime http://www.offertime.net of course I get more traffic on Ebay but I'm paying an arm and a leg for it. Not only that but It's also stressing me out. Ebay's no longer the company it used to be.

"We are just a platform" Ebay seem to becoming more of a tool for crooks, helped by ebay, and I hope that this will turn around and bite them. At the moment there is a person selling a particularly rare item - that is if it were original. The person has been banned by all major auction houses from entering their premises as items or parts of items used to disappear from viewings when this person was there. This person has been jailed for theft and receiving stolen items, and has now moved up to forgery.

So try explain this to ebay so that they can warn potential buyers (seller has set bidders ID to private). So someone will in good faith buy this item and there is no way to warn them. Ebay I think makes themselves complicit in this crime, as they do with being the major platform for moving stolen property!

All auction houses in the real world are expected to exercise a certain degree of care, except it seems ebay

ANOTHER STORY FOR EVERYBODY ON WHY EBAY SUCKS:

I joined ebay in 1999. You could say that ebay was in its beginnings.(Remember when they used to show you how many auctions were going at the present time?)Anyway, I had no problems for years. Well except for the occasional deadbeat bidder. Now all of a sudden there are all these new rules, and it's kicking the little guy out!!! I don't want to use paypal. Just yet another fee I have to pay. Not to mention the customer service is awful. I swear they hire monkeys just to hit keys on a keyboard to give canned responses. I WILL NO LONGER USE EBAY TO SELL AGAIN!!!!! In fact because of ebays stupidity.....I have discovered many other ways to sell my old stuff. Craiglist for one.........and a few other smaller sites I am tinkering with at the present moment. Ebay has got to be reading all these comments. The funny thing is they don't care for some reason. As long as the few at the top are still making their millions I guess it doesn't matter. I wouldn't purchase stock in this company if you paid me. Goodbye ebay. It's been real. Now I can use my 6 other accounts to give every seller I possibly can a negative score. I am gonna do my best to fuck up every seller on here. You all should do the same. Now that I cant get a negative in return,.,,,,,this is gonna be a fieldday for ME AND THE SCAMMERS!!!!! HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA....I HOPE U DONT SELL ON EBAY!!!!!

Last Christmas, I bought what I thought was a 1910 dime converted into a tie tack. That is how it was described.

I ordered this as a Christmas gift to my husband. When it came in the mail, I looked at it, and thought how nice it was, and gave a feedback that said the seller was excellent and I liked the tie tack.

Christmas Day, my hubby opened the gift and I could tell he was a little crestfallen. I said what's wrong, and he said, this is plastic. He said I know this because I have collected coins for years and because I used a router on a 1910 dime myself one time and was going to turn it into a tie tack.

I contacted the seller and long story short, they simply WOULD NOT ADMIT that the dime was plastic. I paid $25.00 plus shipping for this tie tack.

I contacted ebay and the seller through the proper channels, several times, but they never would hear me out and refund my money.

So now we're stuck with a tacky plastic tie tack and I'm out about $30.00. I didn't know it was plastic until my husband told me and showed me why he knew it was plastic.

I've thought of selling my art on ebay, but after reading what you guys have to say, I think I'll try Craig's List or ETSY.

Thanks for hearing me out.

I just spent the last hour reading so many intertesting comments on why Ebay really foes suck. I have been with Ebay since 1998 Oct and with very little problems. I did one time have 23 auctions shut down by Ebay because I had the wording "Cash at your own risk" for payment option. I had been using this statement for 8 years...then some yahoo decides to shut them all down because was not allowed as payment. Wow..what a pain in the azz it was redoing every auction again to suit the Draconian Ebay dictators. Recently though..I have found Ebay to be a pain with all there new so called features..which are all geared towards the powers seller and not the 100,000's non power seller's. There just another disgusting self serving company looking to satisfy the shareholders and not the sellers. And how about this....I shouldn't tell this..but you can seriously rip off a seller via PAYPAL refunds. My sister sold an item on Ebay to a new bidder for $122us...there was no tracking info, or registered mail..since it would be to much for most biddder's to pay. She sent the item...and they did get it, but they complained to PAYPAL that they never got the item and they just yanked the money out of my sister account and told here that she needed to provide "PROOF OF DELIVERY"..ya what absolute BS..who in there right mind is going register every item they send..yu would never sell anything if shipping was always double then what every other seller's has. This bidder had..get this..no feedbacks yet and my sister had about 600 then and no negatives..this newby not only got a free item, but even left her her first negative and so far..they have never mad e abid since. So..if yur item was not registered..say you never got it and have a fre item on Rip off Ebay/PAYPAL...

Trust and safety takes forever to get back to you and you can't talk to anyone on the phone. I feel like I'm being treated like a child by them...punishing me by suspending my account. So I built my own website. I know it won't get nearly as much traffic as eBay, but no listing fees and no final value fees! I'm also thinking of just taking Google Checkout and not PayPal since PayPal and FeeBay are the same company. They can leave my account suspended for all I care! I don't want to give them another freakin' dime.

OP .. to get ebay to close your account:

* you have to die

* your family and friends have to make bids using your corpse's ID. Then they don't pay. Then, eventually, ebay might make you NARU after another decade or so. Maybe.

you have to die

* your family and friends have to make bids using your corpse's ID. Then they don't pay. Then, eventually, ebay might make you NARU after another decade or so. Maybe.

I am thinking of putting a clause in my listing 'Dead people are not allowed to bid' I can see this as the only way to close an account we need to keep the 5 million users

I listed an item and first off ebay requires me to accept paypal as a form of payment for some bullshit reason. Then the auction ends for over $1800 and I get a non-paying bidder. I file a unpaid item report and go to leave negative feedback. Only to find that ebay does not allow sellers to leave negative feedback. This is unfair to the seller. To all sellers or anyone thinking about selling, Don't Ebay is a bunch of pricks.

I was ebay power seller. I sold over $7 Mil and paid $1/2 mil in ebay fee between 2001-2008. Early 2008 my account was suspended for low customer satisfaction ratio. I maintained 98.2% for all 7 years. I opened a few new accounts and all of them have 100% positive feedback but got suspended because I had a suspended ebay account. I have no other problem with ebay.
If you are a businessman and one of your customer buy $75,000/year (merchandise/service) from you, would you treat your customer this way?? I now doing wholesale toys, testing other online auction site, and selling through web sites. I am able to survive. Ebay is not a businessman.

EBays feedback only benefits sellers. If an honest buyers submits bad feedback for a corrupt seller. All the seller has to do is submit bad feedback to the buyer. This eventually leads to a Mutual Feedback Withrawal. So end the end, sellers win. EBay buyers lose!

I would like to know of any other trusted sites, as much as they can be trusted, besides ebay to do business with! Ebay certainly has seemed to take over the buying and selling internet world. I had a lot of fun on ebay because their site is easy to read and fun to bid. When I sold, it was a different story. My shipping was reasonable, my shipping was very fast, my reputation was 100 percent. My wife had an ebay account and didn't do so well with it in the past, now I cannot use ebay. Is this fair? I don't think so.

I am starting to hate ebay!! I bought an item two months ago and paid for it instantly. I never received it...wrote seller a negative feedback...she admitted through email about 5 times that she had not sent it because she didnt get my address...YEAH RIGHT! I sent the information to her several times...finally I just left back feedback. So she refunds my money and then files an unpaid item dispute with ebay...WTF...I sent them the confirmation info from paypal and everything...but no...Now i have an unpaid item strike and i did nothing wrong. You cannot reach a live person to speak to for the life of you either!! And then the seller leaves feedback threatening me...does ebay do anything..No!! Customer service is horrible!!

Why after over 3 years is this still happening to people?

If ebay truely cared about their sellers they would have sorted this problem out years ago.

Innocent until proven guilty. ?

I have just had my account blocked as i am selling designer clothes but i buy my clothes direct from the head office of the respected brands and i am a licensed seller of these goods of which i have already provided ebay with to prove my authenticity.

So why do they block my account, its about time the big cheese of ebay had a look at this web site and pished it through to their customer service department!

anyone know how we can get ebay to read this or actually get some kind of legal system down on them for false closure, im sure their is someone out their who would love to take this up! maybe a petition at the end of this page to say how unhappy, then again the amount of posts on here sums it up really.

I have had a really bad experience with ebay of late. I'm trying to get my ebay business off the ground, selling pcs.

I have had to set up three different acounts. First off they suspended my account because it was hacked, they canceled all my listings, but never gave me any money back from the listing fees. Second account i set up the suspended it because i listed alot of PCs and they thought this one had been hacked aswell and suspended that account. I'm now on my third account, this is really annoying because i have managed to sell PCs on these previous accounts before the where suspended. As you can imagine trying to sell something as expensive as a PC on ebay with 0 feedback it hard, so when i do actually sell one its great because it means ill be getting a feedback from it, but when ebay suspend my accounts i lose that feedback and have to start all over again!

My advice to ANYONE wishing to start selling on ebay is the following: When registering a card for payments ensure it is one of those VOUCHER type things which you can buy for amounts between $10 and $20.

Why do I suggest this? Read on. Ebay WILL and CAN suspend your account at ANY time. For example, for the last 14 months I have been selling LEGITIMATE CDs and DVDs, with a 100% positive feedback and over 150 transactions.

I was suspended for selling a COUNTERFEIT DVD. How did they come to this conclusion? Especially considering I have not even sent one of the items out !

I am either the victim of a vindictive buyer who has 'reported' me for an item they have never actually received, or ebay simply PICK on individual sellers for the hell of it.

Now, the reason I STRONGLY suggest EVERYONE who considers selling on ebay gets themselves a low value voucher when registering is the following. When your account is frozen ebay IMMEDIATELY sends ALL buyers a message informing they do NOT pay you for the goods they have won. The buyers then either cancel their checks or claim through Paypal. At the SAME TIME ebay will charge you for ALL the sales you have made, meaning that as you are refunding all the buyers ebay are getting their hands on YOUR money, as you will have made ZIP from the selling!

Had you registered with your credit card ebay would simply dip into your funds and take the FULL AMOUNT from it. However, as you have registered your low value voucher ebay are likely to get NOTHING, because you only have $10 on the account, and even if your fees are $11 they cannot take a CENT !

EBAY- MIND HOW YOU GO !

More horror stories!

Sara - I looked up Picolabetty - What a crook! Just a preview of coming attractions on eBay. I hear that some sellers have already found a way to leave dozens of negatives for their competition! Can't say I didn't see that coming.

There was a similar nasty person stalking me on eBay. I begged eBay to let me change ID's without linking me to my old ID. They wouldn't. So I set up another ID and started all over, losing over 1000 feedbacks. That person is still on eBay with a feedback score of 51 and 5 negatives. They suspended me indefinitely because of my "linked" accounts. I had 1 retaliatory negative out of 1,500 feedbacks. They suspended her for 3 days because she had a linked account - but then, she is a buyer and I sold "yard sale" stuff.

Another bidder was harassing me with filthy e-mails. I sent a complaint to eBay and blocked the bidder. eBay gave my personal contact information to the bidder AFTER I had blocked him. When I complained, they pretended it didn't happen.

Ebay is a crook! They are the worst sort of crooks allowed to steal! Ebay is consider white collar crimnals-----which makes it legal to steal!

They have all these rules in place to operate as criminals and they steal from everybody who uses their services.

INCLUDING ALL OF US WHO USES PAYPAL!!!

They allow scam artists such as picolabetty to operate freely on ebay. Picolabetty is the worst sort of criminal. She steals from sellers and extorts money from them. Picolabetty was suspended on March 11, 2008 for two days and she is back today March 13, 2008 buying again.

Must people can never come back to ebay or if they do it is in a month or longer...ebay never responds that fast. So who is picolabetty related too in the company??

WOW----- to be rein-stated in two days....who does she know? What is her connection??

She has received 11 negatives in a one week period and eaby allows this sort of behavior. She extorts feedback from individuals and if you give her a strike for being a non paying bidder she lies and says the person is angry because pay pal gave money back. She has received three strikes that I am aware of. If you do not give picolabetty money off of an item then she returns the item for a full refund and leaves you a negative. She has asked for as much as $200.00 off a $599.99 dollar Raccoon coat. item and there is nothing wrong with it.

I think all of them are in bed together. So since we do not have choices and ebay is the only action in town make your money and try to find another way to make money.

Ebay will kill you...they have a deaf ear and do not care about anything, anybody------But the money and fees they can charge you.

They have all these rules to protect criminals....I see why the criminals have come out of the wood work to steal on ebay...because before ebay decide to do anything they have gotten their money and move on to the next victim. What idiots!

Today I am letting this go.....I have lost countless hours of sleep dealing with ebay. To be exact one week! So I am going to do something I have peaches about....LIG....LET IT GO!

THANKS FOR HEARING ME OUT!! SARA

Dear a_star_car (astarcar@googlemail.com),

We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been restricted from buying or selling on eBay because it is in breach of our Seller Non-Performance policy.

Our records indicate that buyer satisfaction with your account has worsened significantly over the past 90 days. To help keep eBay a safe place to trade we have ended your open listings and temporarily restricted your account.

Your account will remain restricted for the next thirty days to allow you to settle these issues. During this time you won't be able to make any new purchases or list any items. We've ended any open listings.

heres my reply to them:

Firstly I would like to mention that the last negative feedback I received was from a chap who bought a starter motor - redfastlad - item: 270206516750, who emailed and said that the item was not as described, which in fact it was - I had duplicated the description from the original manufacturers website, he the emailed back 5 minutes later saying actually it was broken that he'd had an electrician test it and it needed repair (all in 5 minutes - wow), I know this to be untrue as the item was fully tested before being sent, and it could not have been damaged in the post as it was well wrapped. I explained my listing, asked him to read it again - and my additional info, and said I could only refund the price he paid if he returned the item, I could not refund the postage. I had no further communication from him until I noticed he had left bad feedback. I know that if the chap had tried it as a replacement for his own broken article, it would have worked. I do still have the original correspondance if you wish to investigate this.

The next negative feedback on the list was someone who didnt even contact me prior to leaving bad feedback, for an item - ford sunroof seal, which was once again as described: batmat7 item 270205972260 I know it was a genuine article because I removed it from my car myself! - Unfortunately I have no correspondance for you to investigate in this case.

I believe that eBay is rather unfair, and I feel like making a complaint to an ombudsman, it seems you are just money grabbing - at least I had no open listings as I am fed up of not being refunded for listings you choose to close. The one that really got my goose was a car I had for sale that you ended as a 'ghost' auction, I never received a refund my £8 listing fee. If I add it up you have cancelled around £20 worth of listings for no real reason other than forcing me to pay to relist them.

You really need to revise your policies regarding the way you treat customers, I'm an honest chap, who if I have made a mistake will admit it, but I hate being ripped off by people who think they'll swap their faulty goods for what I send them and then get frustrated when I refuse to refund them. I know you just want the money, but a lot of people are losing faith in eBay and moving on to better places such as eBid.

I would appreciate someone from your company to take time out of pressing buttons, to actually consider my email and respond to me in person.

This is what eBay has done to my family…

Both my daughter and I sold on eBay for years. My bank account was linked to her eBay account so that I could pay her seller fees through my bank account. EBay had no problem with collecting those fees over the years and we made no secret of the fact that the accounts were linked. I estimate we paid eBay more than $30,000.00 in fees over the years.

But we were “yard sale” sellers. We never engaged in shill bidding and carefully adhered to all of eBay’s rules - after all, they were our major source of income and we weren’t about to jeopardize that. Twice I bid on something I didn’t want my daughter to sell and in both cases I won the auction and paid the eBay fees.

My daughter’s husband is suffering from MRSA, the “super bacteria”. He has been unemployed for two years, and has had surgery 4 times. He is seriously ill and definitely may not survive. His unemployment insurance ran out months ago. He has applied for Permanent Disability, but it takes about a year to get approved for that. In the meantime, their only income was eBay.

Not long ago my daughter fell and suffered a severely fractured shoulder and arm. With the use of only one hand and in extreme pain, she was late with shipping a few items. As soon as she was able, she explained the problem to the buyers, with one-finger typing, and said she would ship the items as soon as she could. She even gave one buyer a full refund and told him that he could pay her again as soon as he received his purchase, which she had managed to ship. She asked the other buyers if they could wait or if they wanted a refund. I sent refunds to two of them myself. However, a couple of the buyers did not believe her and filed complaints. She was suspended from eBay for “failure to perform”.

Then, simply because my account was “linked to a previously suspended account” I was also suspended. I believe that eBay was searching for reasons to suspend as many “yard sale” sellers as they could. We had combined feedback totals of more than 2600 with one negative, from a non-paying bidder. We had never broken eBay rules. I tried to explain our situation to eBay. They would not hear.

Ebay gave me instructions on how to release the suspension - I was to e-mail them through the “previously suspended” account at which point I would be able to close the “linked” account and the other account would be reinstated.

However, they blocked e-mail access to eBay from the suspended account. The only communication I received from them was that my account would remain suspended until I e-mailed them through the e-mail address which they had blocked. There was nothing I could do. I would receive only a reiteration of their nonsensical instructions, the latest one including the phrase, “we may not respond to further e-mails”. I faxed them the formal “Request for Reinstatement”, which must be signed “under penalty of perjury” and include a copy of a “Government issued ID”. The form states that they will respond “within 7 to 10 days”. I faxed it on February 11th. They have ignored it.

I have given up and will remain suspended.

At this point I would not sell on eBay even if I were not suspended - that will be a dangerous undertaking for any seller.

Both my daughter and I were devastated by eBay’s refusal to reinstate at least one account. Not only did my daughter lose her only source of income, we lost one of the few pleasures we find in our struggle to survive. We would no longer be going to the weekend estate sales on our “treasure hunts”. There would be no reason to go. It seemed that not only our livelihood, but a major part of our lives had come to an end. When I was notified of my suspension I was in the process of organizing the hundreds of “yard sale” items I intended to list on eBay. I had emptied the closet and stacked the things on the floor to sort them. They are still on the floor - I have not been able to bring myself to deal with them.

I am 72 years old and live on Social Security plus what I could make on eBay, often by selling my own “treasures”, sometimes at a huge loss. Almost all of my eBay earnings went to assist my daughter, her husband and my two grandchildren. I have placed a reverse mortgage on my house so that I can keep my daughter and her family in food and shelter until a better place to sell takes the place of eBay.

Thank you eBay - from a long-time loyal ex-customer. My loyalty has gone elsewhere! You are definitely no better than my family or I simply because you have your health, your employment and your money - you are only luckier! Enjoy it while you have it - I have a suspicion (and the hope) that it won’t last long.

Has anybody ever thought of getting a hold of the media to expose all the consumer issues that both ebay and paypal have? I'm sure that any of big news corp. would love to have an easy in depth story about the hundreds of thousands of cases where ebay and paypal have done wrong to their users. The consistent posts to this blog say a lot.
In order to force both ebay and paypal to do an overhaul, you have to provide them with a very credible threat.
It would not be unreasonable to think that if there was enough support for a well executed, widespread campaign against their bad business practices along with the beginning of the development of a new well advertised auction site that capitalizes on everything that ebay lacks for its users, that ebay would be forced to completely change the way they do business. It would also help if there were simultaneously a frenzy of costly lawsuits against the corporation in addition to lawsuits already pending.
I am particularly disgusted by the way they allow so many counterfeit items to be traded and sold across the world. I don't appreciate how they place limits on any account that sells brand name items when, in some instances they can just remove maybe 2 or 3 powersellers and resolve the heavy counterfeiting issues that they have with a majority of items in a category for particular brand.

eBay is horrible, everthing is honkey dorey until you have a problem. They do not take care of their members but are very efficient at charging and taking fees. I have had non payers that left me negative feedback and I cannot get it removed. eBay states that feedback is between members and they do not get involved. So anyone can say anything they want, even when the FACTS totally contradict their statements. I hope that the government starts looking into their business practices, and they become a dinosuar of the past.

Small Business E-commerce Technology Company Introduces Features Designed To Reach Markets Beyond eBay
New Web 2.0 e-commerce technology company FastCommerce.com announces the introduction of Google Products as a part of a larger strategy of giving on-line businesses access to a growing number of new marketplaces beyond eBay. While eBay offers small business entrepreneurs access to an immense market for on-line sales, it also presents continual challenges to small companies running on razor-thin margins. Recent changes in policy at the on-line auction site highlight the risks of running an on-line business with only one marketplace strategy.

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) February 16, 2008 -- New Web 2.0 technologies offer access to a growing number of marketplaces for those on-line sellers who have traditionally relied on one large marketplace vendor to drive sales. For FastCommerce.com, the introduction of Google Products is just the first step in powering merchant access to these new and growing opportunities.

eBay has proved to be a large marketplace for selling on-line, but it continues to present challenges, even disruptions, to the small business entrepreneur looking to succeed in on-line sales. There are upfront fees for listing products, an expense regardless of whether the item is sold. eBay sellers also go up against a large number of direct competitors, which drives down profit margins for the majority of sales. Low margins compete with incremental expenses and changes in policy to make it more difficult for many small companies to build a profitable on-line business.

Moreover, eBay is only one marketplace at a time when the number of successful market venues continues to proliferate. The introduction of Google Products as well as Google Check-out highlights the need for moving beyond a single market strategy for increasing sales. The challenge and the opportunity for on-line sellers is to have access to an inexpensive single-system e-commerce application that can power both market reach and on-line sales.

E-commerce technologies that are market neutral enable the small business entrepreneur to compete in an array of marketing venues. FastCommerce.com automatically publishes its merchants' product catalogs to Google products. Or again, FastCommerce.com offers both Google Check-out and PayPal. With FastCommerce.com on-line merchants are not fettered by the strategy of a dominant industry player.

For example, David Pogue of the New York Times, in a review of Microsoft's revamped Office Live, points out that its integrated ad-word campaign tool is limited to only two search engines. As he writes, "You can place ads on Microsoft's search sites and Ask.com, which together represent less than 8 percent of search engine popularity. If you are going to advertise, you'd almost certainly prefer the exposure of the Big Two- Yahoo and Google- but they are not available through Office Live."

Small business entrepreneurs need access to inexpensive, single-system ecommerce applications that are easy and quick to set up, easy to use, and which let their users grow their business without growing their costs. For a low fixed monthly fee, FastCommerce.com allows a merchant to sell 2,000 product without transaction or user fees: small business entrepreneurs can grow their business at a fixed price with no hidden or incremental charges.

Finally, new Web 2.0 e-commerce technologies like FastCommerce.com offer an array of features that can power the whole of their on-line business. Gone are the days when a simple, cheap "shopping cart" can take small businesses to the next level. According to FastCommerce.com CEO Charles Han, today's small business e-commerce applications have to encompass all aspects of running a business, including detailed reports and analytics, order and customer management systems, and more. As he states, "It has to be enterprise in scope but with a small business price."

No less important, Han argues, "Today's small business e-commerce systems must also power the merchant's marketing. It is publish or perish, to search engines, shopping comparison sites, or retail search sites. On-line sellers do not have the skills or the time to do this themselves. They have to have an enterprise platform that connects all the dots for them."

No matter that I have been selling for 5 years with 99.8% positive feedback (and I might add that one neg was a vindictive retaliation and one was the buyer did not read the ad properly, not that ebay would do anything about them), Nor did it matter that my ebay bill is between $150 and $220 per month. Or that I do pay a fair share of paypal fees when I sell to overseas customers. Not to mention my strategic way of listing so as to optimise viewers from all over the world, had been dismantled.
With the click of a button, they vanished.
Why??? because of a few unmentionable words, which by the way were not in the ebay dictionary/rules when I first started, but have sneakily appreared in the ebay rules along with paypal.
These words that I used in my adverts were "paypal is accepted from overseas buyers only"
They were most unreasonable and very aggressive in their attack on my livelyhood.
I live in Australia, and our banking system here is cheaper to use than paypal, but paypal is convenient for overseas transactions. ebay/paypal want you to use paypal only, they only endorse and protect fully paypal transactions. They say that paying through my countries banking system is not safe. Nor is paying via money order, both of which used to be safe!!! and that paypal is the only safe way to pay. What a load of crap!!!
I am FURIOUS with them deleting my auctions like that, at the very least they could have messaged me, phoned me (they did so to get info out of me when building paypal up) or just taken one or two of my auctions off to get the message through, but not 15, oh they did leave a few crappy auctions on, not that they are crappy, but meaning that they did not bring in bigger money, and they, had the same sentence written in them!!!
The fatcats need pulling down, and put back into perspective.
Paypal and ebay are easy targets at the moment, and anyone who can match their selling power, or even come close, without the exhorbitant fees, unfair trials, greed and naziism rules could overtake them and put them out of business.
Do all rich people have a greed mindset???? can you not get ahead and even overtake them with goodheartedness and fairness to your fellow man/woman/child. How did ebay get so big and sooooo UGLY. You'd think that they would be grateful to the people who got them to where they are today, but instead they are bleeding them dry.
They have forgotten who helped them to get on top.
I am in the market for a new selling venue and a new overseas payment system. A conglomerate of people who know the pangs of ebay and paypal, and who would never do the same to others. That would be a good selling point for an auction site.
Yes payebay (aka: ebay & paypal) SUCK!!!! and they are losing their pals at a fast rate.

Try www.swapblaster.com . This site has a unique approach to selling and it costs only 7c after coming out from its beta state. For the next 6 months the buying and selling will be free. The approach may be strange in the beginning but you will get a feel of it, trust me. Go through the wiki pages and spread this word around. I believe this will be an integrated solution for all your day to day needs, material and non-material. Let us make this movement successful and find some NIRVANA in the sphere of online transactions. Good LUCK and God BLESS AMERICA.

Okay, this is classic Ebay. I had a perfume store that was suspended by Ebay for a supposed "trademark violation" although noone from Ebay could tell me what in particular was violating a trademark.

Well, I went through their process to get reinstated. You have to fax a bunch of info to prove you are the account holder, blah, blah, blah. I waited a few days all the while trying to get a hold of someone there which you can't to see if they got my fax. Needless to say, 10 days pass before I get an email saying they did not get all of my fax. Another 10 days pass. I spoke with an attorney who specializes in internet cases and had dealt with a perfume store in the same situation before. Basically unless you have 100s of thousands of dollars, you aren't going to be able to sue Ebay. Now I could spend $3000 to retain the attorney and he possibly had a contact at Ebay that could help me determine exactly what my trademark violation was and how to fix it, but for what little money I stand to make it doesn't make sense.

So anyway, about a month passes before I finally hear back from Ebay saying I am reinstated. Great, I thought. I revised all of my listings to make it absolutely clear that I bought these items from a liquidation lot, that they were pulled from shelves of department stores. All copy, photos, etc are mine. I changed the headings to read "Ralph Hot by Ralph Lauren" for example to make sure there was no confusion in who held the trademark. This was beginning of Jan 2008. For about a month I made several sales, I had 48 people leave feedback with a 100% rating.

Just the other day, my first batch of listings ran out. I had several 100 listings in store format. I thought I had set my preferences so as not to have them auto-relisted but apparently not because Ebay auto-relisted all of those after they expired 30 days from the first list date. Well, wouldn't you know....I get an email less than 24 hours later saying I am suspended from doing business on Ebay again....once again for trademark violation. My suspicion is that the auto-relist triggered something, as Ebay has had 30 days to have a problem with my listings and has not until a mass listing event happened. I have found on the internet several people saying their security software seems to have all sorts of problems.

What it all boils down to is this...Ebay is getting sued all over the world by trademark holders ( and even by a country!! France or Germany if I remember correctly ). Their people are not trained very well in what is and what isn't a trademark violation, so when in doubt, they just shut you down. The fact that noone from Ebay can tell me what in my listing is violating a trademark is confirmation of that. What makes this whole thing criminal on their part is I was charged for all the listings that went on only to be suspended less than a day later, and they will not refund my money! In any other line of business that would be called "stealing."

What I have learned in all my attempts to make an honest buck on the internet is this: If people are telling you they are making money or even making a living using one of many techniques on the internet, be highly sceptical!! The only people I can tell making money on Ebay are Ebay themselves with their high fees and business model that includes stealing money, and the cottage industry that has sprung up around Ebay directed at sellers on Ebay. Those would include all the supposed "wholesalers" who want to sell you product to offer on Ebay who are not wholesalers, but actually retailers who bought themselves at wholesale then mark it up and try to offer to you "wholesale". Beware these people, they are also called "internet middlemen". You will lose money using them. Also people selling these seminars and books and e-books on how great it is selling on Ebay. I'm sure there are people who do actually turn a profit on Ebay, but they must be few and far between. When you have people offering the same product, same exact item with price ranges running from $20-$55 and the wholesale cost is $25, there is just no way you are going to make money. Truthfully the only way I see to make money ( and you won't be making a living ) on Ebay is if you make your own product and therefore have little cost, or you are selling junk around your house that has already been paid for and depreciated over several years.

Anyway, that is my wonderful experience on Ebay. Needless to say, I am through with them. It was a noble experiment, but I won't allow my self to be suckered in by their sales pitches again about how great it is to open a store on Ebay. Not saying it couldn't work for you, but lesson learned....stay away from any product that could cause trademark problems ( just about everything )...especially designer brand items. Thanks for reading, and stay safe out there...the internet is full of people trying to take our hard earned dollars with dreams of making a nice income sitting in front of the computer.

Ebay charge 10% or more for the new fee. How buyer can get a real good deal

I've got news for you sellers who think eBay protects buyers - they don't! I've closed my eBay account for the 4th time yesterday. The first time I closed it was because the merchandise I was being sent ended up being department store prices for garage sale quality items. The second time was because a seller lied to me 3 times about when he shipped my item - I paid for priority shipping that was supposed to be 2-3 day delivery and I didn't get it for 3 weeks. I left him negative feedback and he retaliated with negative feedback even though I had paid him immediately after the auction ended. The third time was because the sellers don't leave feedback for buyers based on the buyer's actions, but whether or not the seller got positive feedback. I bought one Mrs. Beasely doll that was described in "excellent" condition. Yeah, excellent condition that included stains on the doll and its apron plus broken glasses. I found the seller had left retaliatory feedback for a couple of other sellers and I knew if I left honest feedback she'd do the same for me. Yesterday was the final straw for me! I bought an item on eBay Express, paid for it immediately, and a few minutes later received an email from eBay stating the item had been cancelled. No other explanation other than my money would be refunded from PayPal. When I went to My eBay section and clicked on the auction, it stated payment for the item had been cancelled. I did NOT cancel the payment, eBay did - why, I have no clue. I thought it wasn't available for whatever reason and purchased the same item from another seller. The seller of the cancelled auction got all pissy about me not paying for her item. I explained in numerous emails to her that eBay cancelled it, not me. She just refused to accept that so I contacted eBay TWICE asking them to let her know I didn't cancel the order, they did. Ebay refused to contact her and said I had to call her - paying for a long distance call - and talk to her. Why? Why should I waste more money calling this seller when I'd already explained it to her several times & she was basically calling me a liar. I'm sick of eBay and their crappy service! All they're interested in is getting their money and screw the honest buyers and the honest sellers. This time is the last time with eBay. I'm finished. I hope eBay goes out of business - it would serve them and their dishonest, lying sellers and buyers right!

Ebay Sucks!
That is the understatement of the year. Listen to what these idiots did to me. First off I sold some products on ebay and had quite a few listed in my ebay store until the price of holding products in your store sky rocketed. I was on ebay for 6 months and their rates went up twice. So anyway I decided that the charges were to high and I pulled all of my listings and shut down my store. I paid all of my fees and went about my business. Then 6 months later ebay comes back and says that I owe 260 dollars for over credits. So I call ebay and their superstar customer service rep says that the computer found a bunch of over credits to my listings. So they show me all of these so called over credits to my accounts and they are like 2-10 cent so called credits to around 150 different listings that I had at one time. Totally 260 dollars. How can that be I said that I paid and closed my accounts 6 months ago? The superstar says that they recently did an audit and that is what they came up with? So by that rational ebay could charge me whatever they want whenever they want. I refused to pay for these made up charges and I have been getting phone calls from creditors ever since about paying this fony charge. The extent of greed that this company has is unreal. I paid thousands of dollars in fees to ebay and that wasn't enough they had to create charges to get more out of me. To fight this rediculous charge would cost me 10 times as much as it would be to just pay it. Hurting my credit history and tarnishing my reputation is more costly than the 260 dollars but I just can not pay this fee. So in closing ebay does suck they are way out of control and should be stopped. But good luck with that.

I have gone thru hell with ebay. Ebay and paypal is one company. i paid for an item, $ 2150.00 for a diamond ring. never got to see my money or the diamond. Moreover i have seen people with 4000 feedbacks all 100% Positive vanish from ebay , whY ? cause ebay kicked them out. and guys with 90% feedbacks still defrauding buyers and milking them for money.
So frustrated i went on to search for a place where i can sell jewelry and found www.jewelrygrabber.com
Its a simple site. however only for jewelry. Guess what i am selling even though its picking up, I wish best of luck to jewelrygrabber guys.. Kick ebay's butt and come out with an all rounder site that sells everything.

I've also heard that eBay has a creepy corporate culture.

Sellers – Boycott eBay on Feb 20, 2008

eBay has made some changes that will take effect February 20, 2008. They are marketing a decrease in listing fees, coupled with benefits for buyers and sellers. The truth is that although listing fees re being slightly decreased (from 5 cents to 20% depending on item value), final value fees are being increased DRASTICALLY. PowerSellers get discounts, but it will not get them back to as good a situation as they are currently in!

More importantly, eBay is ELIMINATING NEGATIVE FEEDBACK for buyers!!! That means as a seller you cannot leave negative feedback for a buyer. You either leave positive feedback or no feedback!! This is what eBay is marketing as a benefit for buyers. Obviously it is a benefit for buyers...but buyers that represent the scum off the earth and certainly not the good, honest buyers that eBay should be trying to attract. This is a loss for honest buyers, a loss for sellers and a negative for the whole eBay community. Starting February 20, dishonest buyers will be able to delay and avoid payment with no serious consequences whatsoever! We all know about the three-strikes-and-you're-out for non-paying bidders. With no negative feedback allowed, all buyers essentially get a free pass to not pay for 2 items!!

Is it just me or are eBay seller fees getting higher and higher? I just recently listed an item with a starting bid of $50 and got charged over $5 just to list it. To make it even better, they will also charge an end of auction fee.

Is it just me or do they keep on raising their fees to take advantage of their market "monopoly" ?

I find this rediculous, so I have decided to try something myself. I recently opened an auction/classifieds website that hopefully someday could give eBay some competition.

This website is free and growing! Use this coupon when posting items and they will be free.

Ebay really does suck.
My problem with ebay is that you can't send a message to other ebay members that you are not in a deal with.
So if you spot that someone is purchasing say a counterfiet item you can't warn them.
Their is no reason for this except ebay do not want people to contact one another in case they do business outside ebay.
Crap realls as they do nothing about the sale of counterfiet goods as that would also cost them money.

Onderwerp: Drama in Apeldoorn.

Ebay does suck! Their commissions and listing prices nail you in the keester on the way in and nail you on the way out. There is nothing I can say here that hasn't been said in the previous 959 postings. Do I have a recomendation? You bet I do!! Its a RIOT! It has a one time yearly membership dues, which lets members buy or sell as much as they want without an additional costs. This site does not have a commission to make on the sales of those that using the service. The cost? Less than $ .18 per day. You can make money on referals and on those who your referals refer.

We do not live in a communist country and eBay conducting their business as such isn’t taken lightly by the american people.

I am a victim of eBay's "because-we-said-so" enforcements was convicted and condemned without investigation or inquiry.

Ebay closed down all of my 47 listings and pocketed the $70+ fees. The reason? My sister bid on one of my items. Yes. You heard me correctly.

If selling to a relative is a crime, I’m part of a multi-million count group who was totally unaware.

Their policies are broad and vague so that they may be twisted and turned any way which suits their purpose. Assumptions and accusations are handled as truth. Their ability to mediate problem situations - non-existent.

A sister bidding on one of my items is no justification for Ebay to help themselves to $70 of my money. But they feel it is. Why? Because they said so. That's the end of it. Discussion is over.

By the way, my sister lives three states away. She placed on a bid on one of my items. This is my crime. Ebay sellers, I hope you are heeding this message carefully.

Ebay's erroneous shoot-from-the-hip actions have cost me over $70 in lost listing fees, lost potential sales, countless hours I spent preparing my listings, not to mention dissappointing my buyers.

They restricted my account, froze my half.com sales, stripped my status and retained funds that did not belong to them. They have yet to respond to my emails.

For the record, I have over 1,400 Positive feedback (Yes - No Negatives! An incredible feat in this day and age), and powerseller status.

Really! They have to be stopped. This is crossing the line.

There's no integrity in ebay anymore! you have idiots selling items the cheapest they possibly can profiting $1.00 per sale instead of keeping the value of the product high. There's items on there people willingly would love to pay %600-700 dollars for but some bonehead came in and listed his for %69.99

This type of penny pinching mentality kills me!

Ebay has no process for resolving claims of extenuating circumstance, this is a fact as all options for disputing an issue are pre-populated by Ebay on their Dispute Console. My situation is as follows:

1. I successfully sold an item.
2. I sent invoice, buyer didn't pay for 5 days.
3. I then sent email and called the buyer (disconnected number) and waited 2 additional days.
4. On day 8 I tried to fill out Unpaid Item Form which did kept giving me error message stating I had to wait 7 days to file, and the date it showed, was two days in the past???
5. I contacted customer service and explained situation with great care and articulation.
6. Was referred back to Unpaid Item Form as if my complaint had fallen on deaf ears.
7. Offered item to second chance bidder. Accepted paid for immediately. Shipped immediately.
8. Filed negative feedback on first bidder.(That's why it's supposed to be there, to protect seller's/buyer's )
9. After feedback posted, first bidder pays for item via Paypal, strange because item should have been noted as sold when second chance bidder paid via Paypal???
10. First bidders excuse was "I partied too hard over holidays and forgot that I bid".
11. I refunded first bidders money and tried to file Unpaid Item to get a refund of my fees, I was charged for BOTH buyers, the sale amount was large and so are the fees. Same problem as stated in number four, Ebay keeps blocking UPI form stating I have to wait till a date that is now far into the past.
12.Tried to contact ebay again, explained issue above almost verbatim, and got not answer except what seems to be a copy and paste reply to use the dispute console.
13. This is not the first issue that I have had with Ebay, but, this is the last straw, I have been a seller and a buyer for years and I am going to tell everyone that I meet to avoid Ebay like a plague.
14. I am now steaming mad, I am going to cancel my credit card I use to have my Ebay fees deducted from, and become a NON-PAYING SELLER and I dare Ebay to try to collect this money from me.
