New Take Control ebooks about iOS 6 tackle email, networking, and security

Media alert: December 4, 2012

Although iOS, Apple's operating system for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, is generally easy to use, aspects of iOS that still baffle even adept users are email, networking, and security. TidBITS Publishing Inc. has just published two new ebooks that tackle those hairy topics and wrestle them into submission: "Take Control of Mail on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, Fourth Edition," by Joe Kissell, and "Take Control of Networking & Security in iOS 6," by Glenn Fleishman.

In "Take Control of Mail on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, Fourth Edition," Kissell helps readers create a personalized mobile email strategy, complete with account setup advice for iCloud and Gmail, as well as specific directions for reading, writing, organizing, and replying to email messages. Kissell also explains how to diagnose and fix a number of common email-related problems in iOS. The 113-page ebook is available for $10 at http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/iphone-mail

In "Take Control of Networking & Security in iOS 6," Fleishman covers key topics, such as handling hotspot portal pages, creating secure Wi-Fi connections, signing up for the right cellular data plan, setting up an iOS device as a mobile hotspot, conserving cellular data, connecting Bluetooth peripherals, protecting personal data, and using Find My iPhone and other remote tracking software.

Best,
Mary
