New Publishing Titles from O'Reilly Media

Media alert: November 15, 2011

Greetings:
Tim O'Reilly recently wrote that a book is now "a conversation," something fluid and mutable that involves the author, publisher, and reader in a dynamic relationship. We're embracing this concept with a new concept of our own: The book as a startup. Just as ground-floor investors get good value for an unknown entity, so, too, can readers get in now on the ground-floor of a book by investing in a text's evolution, paying a lower price for the initial content than will those who purchase the finished product. Both of the for-sale titles below — Every Book is a Startup and Book: A Futurist's Manifesto — reflect this new model. We have plenty of free content, too, to keep our audience up-to-date on our thinking and publishing's new flux. As always, we thank you for your interest and urge you to use the 'Request Review Copy' to download the title(s) that interest you. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions or feedback.

Cheers,
The O'Reilly PR Team
