MySQL Conference & Expo Call for Participation Now Open: The April 2007 Conference's Theme is "Scale to New Heights with MySQL"
Sebastopol, CA--The Call for Participation for the 2007 MySQL Conference &
Expo has just opened: an invitation for database experts and enthusiasts
to share their knowledge of MySQL with the global open source community.
The theme for the 2007 conference is "Scale to New Heights with MySQL."
This annual event brings nearly 2,000 MySQL developers, DBAs, users, and
partners together in Santa Clara, California. The Call for Participation
ends November 7, 2006; the conference takes place April 23-26, 2007.
The conference program committee invites those interested in taking an
active role in shaping the future of MySQL and related open source
technologies to submit proposals to lead sessions and tutorials. Two types
of proposals will be considered: 45-minute session presentations and
3-hour pre-conference tutorials. Proposals should focus on helping
attendees:
Harness the full power of MySQL, including best practices
Optimize the performance of MySQL
Learn and use the newest features in MySQL
Learn how to best administer MySQL
Learn from experts who use MySQL in various real-world application
architectures
Building High Availability solutions using MySQL
Migrate from proprietary databases to MySQL
Gain knowledge of the newest web development techniques and languages
Employ scale out through Replication, Clustering, and other tools
Learn more about the many excellent MySQL community projects
Some other topics emerging in the MySQL ecosystem that will be explored at
the 2007 conference include:
Enterprise database administration and security
Data warehouse and business intelligence (BI) technology
Pluggable storage engine development and optimization
MySQL Cluster
Replication and scale-out solutions
Cluster and other High Availability solutions
Web 2.0 and emerging web technologies
Telecom and VoIP applications
How community members can contribute to MySQL
The MySQL Conference & Expo is the place to hear visionaries and leaders
from a wide variety of companies and countries discussing the future of
software and the evolution of open source in the enterprise and Web 2.0.
The event is also a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face with the global

heights.
In addition to over 100 informative and inspiring presentations and
