My actual scholastic experience

I graduated High School with a GPA of 2.56 then went on to accumulate about 20 credits in 3 semesters over a two year span. It's now been nearly 25 years since I was last in school. Did I need a degree to get where I am today? No. Practical experience and some good breaks helped me become an expert in my field. Do I wish that I had a degree? Yes. Not for what it could have done to get me into the work force but for what I would have as far as a foundation to build on. If I had a degree I would have gotten farther faster than I have. And there are still areas of employment that I am unable to pursue due to a lack of a sheep's skin. All in all, if you are still in school I would advise that you get a degree. Preferably in a field you are interested in but any degree will do. As a techie, if I had a degree in International Basket Weaving I'd be much better off.
