Test Automation QA Engineer--TripIt

Our team of highly experienced and super creative engineers has built an application unlike any that have come before it in the online travel space. It is now time for TripIt to take it to the next level, and to do that we need you. You are the type of engineer that is driven by the challenge of solving unique and often hard, technical problems in a compressed timeframe while keeping in mind the requirements of the business and the user experience. You will report directly to the co-founder and VP of Engineering and work alongside TripIt's superb staff of intelligent and motivated engineers.


Responsibilities

This position is responsible for all aspects of the build, test, and release processes of TripIt's core application. You must have a strong understanding of software development and testing process, have the capability of maintaining and expanding both our automated test suite as well as our manual testing efforts, and a strong understanding of web technology. You will be the key contributor who will turbo-charge our release cycle even more so than it is today while at the same time increasing the quality of the code that we release.


Minimum Requirements

  • At least 3 years of prior software development or QA experience
  • Strong understanding of web and web-related technologies
  • Server-side application development and/or scripting in Python, PHP, Perl, or Ruby
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium
  • Familiarity with continuous integration build tools such as Cruise Control
  • Solid development habits and practices
  • Natural problem-solver and troubleshooter
  • Comfortable working in a GNU Linux/Unix environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

TripIt is located in San Francisco, CA and applicants must be local to the Bay Area.
