Sr. General Ledger Accountant

As a key member of our accounting team, you will ensure the integrity of O’Reilly Media’s financial information by adhering to GAAP and applying strict controls for GL maintenance, posting of journal entries and reconciliation of GL and sub-ledger accounts, coordinating month and year-end closing activities, preparation of analysis/reports to senior level management as well as management. Additionally, you will oversee sales and use tax analysis and reporting, internal and external audit reporting, balance sheet and income statement analysis. Your ability to manage the GL and related duties as well as work effectively within a small accounting department will be critical to the overall success of the team.

Minimum Requirements

• BS/BA in accounting and 5 years relevant experience as a GL Accountant or an equivalent combination of work and educational experience.
• A strong background working with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
Proficiency in Access, Excel.
• Maintain accounting records and policies in accordance with GAAP and GAAS.
• Hands on accounting skills and understand the limited resources of a small accounting department will require them to do much detail work.
