Marketing Director
O’Reilly Media is looking for a seasoned marketing professional with a strong aptitude for technology and a wealth of expertise in creating and developing marketing plans and seeing those plans through to implementation. You’ll be responsible for marketing all product and services related to the division. As a key, high-visibility player on this team, you’ll identify who the audience is and how to reach them, as well as helping build the framework for and drive consistent messaging and alignment across all channels.
Our successful candidate is ideally already working in a media business, and is able to demonstrate results working with online, print, and in person products and services including attracting massive online audiences and increasing direct sales.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of increasing marketing responsibility, including formulation and implementation of strategic and product plans.
- Develop the division’s overarching marketing strategy, campaign calendar and creating the annual budget (with Dir. Marketing Services).
- Define and develop the division’s brand(s) and brand values, relative to the overarching corporate brand; develop divisional marketing messaging.
- Actively participate in communities, liaise with key organizations and companies; develop new alliances.
- Work with key authors to maximize sales potential of their projects.
- Create book-specific marketing plans for key products.
- Explore new marketing opportunities, channels, and vehicles.
- Devise and implement an effective market research program; measure impact and success of all marketing activity, especially website metrics and purchasing patterns; evaluate year-end results against results and budget.
- BA in Marketing, Marketing Communications, related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
