Google uses browsers' preffered language settings and geotargetting to display local versions of its interface. If you travel abroad and want Google to speak English again, go to http://www.google.com/intl/en.

i noticed something interesting about goolge some time back. "www.google.com" is different that the fully qualified "www.google.com.". the latter, with the trailing period, automatically pulls up google english.
