Easy to get around

Too easy to get around if one has physical access to the machine. All you need to do is change the physical RAM (either add a chip, or take one out, as long as you change the amount) then zap the PRAM three times consecutively.
During the process of updating the ROM, after having zapped the PRAM three times, the ROM forgets about the OpenFirmware password (which is not a part of the default ROM bootup) and does not load it into the bootup procedure, and therefore one can once again launch Single User mode and do whatever they wish.
Does anybody have any idea why modifying /etc/ttys doesn't work?
