Edd Dumbill is program chair for O'Reilly Strata and the O'Reilly Open Source Convention. He is also chair of the XTech web technology conference. Edd conceived and developed Expectnation, a hosted service for organizing and producing conferences.

About Kathryn Dekas

Kathryn Dekas has worked with the People Analytics group since May 2008. Currently, she is the project manager for Googlegeist, Google's annual employee survey, and is also leading a set of projects aiming to provide a seamless onboarding experience for Google's new hires (a.k.a. "Nooglers"). Prior to Google she worked in the HR Learning & Communications group at Qualcomm, as well as the Talent & Organizational Performance consulting group at Accenture. Kathryn holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (focus on Organizational Behavior) from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, and a B.S. in Economics & Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

About Michael Nelson

Dr. Michael Nelson is a Research Associate for the Leading Edge Forum. Michael is also currently Visiting Professor of Internet Studies in Georgetown University's Communication, Culture, and Technology (CCT) Program, a unique, trans-disciplinary masters program for students and researchers interested in how information technology is shaping society and vice versa. Since January 2008, he has been conducting research and teaching courses on The Future of the Internet, innovation, technology forecasting, and e-government, as well as consulting and speaking on Internet technology and policy.

About Michael Hugos

Michael Hugos is an author, speaker and principal at Center for Systems Innovation [c4si]. He specializes in elegant solutions to complex problems in supply chains, business intelligence, and new business ventures. He spent six years as chief information officer (CIO) of a national distribution organization developing a suite of supply chain and application systems that transformed the company's operations and revenue model. He won the CIO 100 Award and the Premier 100 Award for this work. He earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and is author of several books including Essentials of Supply Chain Management(reported by Amazon.com as best selling supply chain book worldwide).

About Hjalmar Gislason

Hjalmar is a serial entrepreneur, founder of four startups in gaming, mobile, web search and data since 1996. Prior to launching DataMarket, Hjalmar worked on new media and business development for companies in the Skipti Group (owners of Iceland Telecom) after their acquisition of his search startup - Spurl. DataMarket is based largely on Hjalmar's vision to build a global exchange for structured data.

About Bill Schmarzo

Bill Schmarzo has more than two decades of experience in data warehousing, BI and analytic applications. Bill authored the Business Benefits Analysis methodology that links an organization's strategic business initiatives with their supporting data and analytic requirements, and co-authored with Ralph Kimball a series of articles on analytic applications. Bill has served on The Data Warehouse Institute's faculty as the head of the analytic applications curriculum. Previously, Bill was the vice president of Analytics at Yahoo where he was responsible for the development of Yahoo's Advertiser and Website analytics products, including the delivery of "actionable insights" through a holistic user experience.
