Bio
Alan Cohen is a software/electronics/systems engineer specializing in medical devices. Since childhood, heâââ‰â¢s enjoyed working with technology, and (even better!) using it to solve problems.
At Cornell, he majored in electrical engineering, minored in neurobiology, and managed to graduate. Since that time heâââ‰â¢s also done a lot of software engineering, from embedded code to web applications, and has contributed to, or led the development of, numerous FDA-regulated products ranging from defibrillators to brain-wave monitors to wearable heart monitors. Alan is currently helping to bring a system to market that kills cancerous tumors by precisely scanning them with a proton beam in three dimensions.
Besides writing this book, he has authored articles in several technical publications and a college textbook on computer communications. Alan is also a speaker at technical conferences and holds seven US patents.
