Peter Scott is the author of the O'Reilly School of Technology Perl Certificate series, and also of the books "Perl Medic," and "Perl Debugged," and of the video DVD "Perl Fundamentals." He has taught Perl all around North America, on the "Perl Whirl" cruise, and has been a frequent speaker at O'Reilly's Open Source Conference. He lives on Vancouver Island with his wife, baby daughter, two cats, and a parrot, at least one of which also knows Perl.
