John Sharp

Bio

John Sharp is a principal technologist working for Content Master, a division of CM Group Ltd in the United Kingdom. The company specialises in advanced learning solutions for large international organisations, often utilising the latest and most innovative technologies to deliver effective learning outcomes. John gained an honors degree in Computing from Imperial College, London. He has been developing software and writing training courses, guides, and books for over 27 years. John has extensive experience in a range of technologies, from database systems and UNIX to C, C++, and C# applications for the .NET Framework. He has also written about Java and JavaScript development, and designing enterprise solutions by using Windows Azure. Apart from seven editions of Microsoft Visual C# Step By Step, he has penned several other books including Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation Step By Step and the J# Core Reference. In his role at Content Master he is a regular author for Microsoft Patterns & Practices, and has recently worked on guides such as Building Hybrid Applications in the Cloud on Windows Azure, and Data Access for Highly Scalable Solutions Using SQL, NoSQL, and Polyglot Persistence.
