Stephen Arrants

Bio

Stephen Arrants has been writing and editing technical books since the early 1980s. After graduating from Drew University in New Jersey with a degree in anthropology and classical studies, Steve turned his understanding of people and communication to the brave new world of computing. In the years since, he has written print and online documentation for Compaq, Microsoft, Reference Software, Autodesk, and NASA. Perhaps his most interesting project was writing the documentation for Microsoft's Flight Simulator, which included a few hours of research in a Boeing aircraft simulator. With the advent of the World Wide Web, Steve's interest turned to documenting and creating online material for intranet and Internet use. Steve brought these skills to O'Reilly in 1995 when he joined the WebSite 1.1 development team as a freelance technical writer. Out of that work came his participation in Building Your Own WebSite. When he is not writing, Steve enjoys being at home in Sonoma County raising purebred Boxers.
