Six years ago, Cahlan Sharp was planning on being a dentist. After working as an editor for online high school courses, however, he became fascinated with web technology. A year and a half later, he had taught himself the basics of web markup, Macromedia (now Adobe) Flash, PHP, and was working as a Flash developer for a global non-profit organization. Cahlan has been building rich internet applications for four years, and is currently an entrepreneur and Flex/Flash developer. He also teaches an ActionScript 3.0 class at Utah Valley University.
Cahlan punches his timecard at his own company, Sharp Media Interactive Development, a small learning services company based in Utah that focuses on using web technologies for making rich educational products. He develops in Adobe Flex Builder as well as Flash. Cahlan is a passionate developer/entrepreneur who believes in the power of learning coupled with technology. He will be receiving his masters of Instructional Psychology and Technology from Brigham Young University in August of 2009.
Cahlan is a married father of two and speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English. He also spends his time being a golf junkie or playing Gears of War 2 or Halo 3.
