The Computer User's Survival Guide. She discussed the issues
with practitioners of traditional and alternative medicine; physical,
occupational, and massage therapists; psychologists; researchers in
ergonomics; research scientists; ergonomic consultants; equipment
developers and suppliers; and computer users themselves to provide a
comprehensive, integrated view of computer-related health problems.
Joan holds degrees in literature, linguistics, and education from the
University of Michigan, as well as a certificate in technical writing
from Middlesex Community College. She worked as a technical writer in
the computer industry for seven years and taught English as a second
language before that. Over the last 15 years, she has practiced
tai chi, aikido, yoga, and natural vision improvement.
