Matthew has worked in the Department of Neurology at the SIU School of Medicine, the Springfield and Chicago campuses of the University of Illinois, the Department of English at New Mexico State University, and currently teaches in the Department of ETCMA at Southern Polytechnic State University. Matthew is the author of Writing Around the World (London: Continuum), which features cover photography by 鞆岡 隆史 and a foreword by five-time Grammy nominated musician Ottmar Liebert.
