Tom Gaskins

Bio

Tom Gaskins has been designing and writing graphics software since 1981. He was a member of the PEX sample implementation team and responsible for the design and implementation of the PEX-SI PHIGS library. He was also a codesigner of Sun's graphics standards products, SunPHIGS and SunGKS. Tom is the Document Editor for PHIGS PLUS and serves on both ANSI and ISO graphics standards committees. Prior to working with graphics standards, Tom developed visualization software for scientific and mechanical engineering applications. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California. Tom is the owner and principal engineer of Sound Software Development, a software design firm. He lives with his wife and daughter in rural Washington. When it isn't raining, he enjoys skiing and hiking in the Northwest mountains and kayaking in the waters of Puget Sound.
