Marcus Whitney is Director of Product Development for Emma, an email marketing service powering the email marketing efforts of over 1800 organizations around the world with offices in New York City (where he's from) and Nashville (where he lives). Marcus is very enthusiastic about the direction that PHP and Zend is taking towards enterprise applications and when he isn't working on Emma, works as an evangelist and educator of professional PHP development. He is a member of the PHP Security Consortium and host of the Pro PHP Podcast.

Marcus' intrests in PHP have sparked interests in other Object Oriented Languages, Database Architecture, the Semantic Web, Ajax, and Web 2.0 to name a few topics.
