Bio

Jay Rosen is an associate professor of journalism at New York University, where he has taught since 1986, and also a critic and writer concentrating on democracy and the press. He's the author of What Are Journalists For? (Yale University Press, 1999.) In the fall of 2003, he began his weblog PressThink. He has also written for Columbia Journalism Review, the Chronicle of Higher Education, The Nation, Harpers, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and other journals.
