J.D. Biersdorfer is the author of iPad: The Missing Manual, iPad 2: The Missing Manual, iPod: The Missing Manual, Netbooks: The Missing Manual, Best iPhone Apps, Second Edition and The iPod Shuffle Fan Book, and is co-author of The Internet: The Missing Manual, iPhoto '09: The Missing Manual and the second edition of Google: The Missing Manual. She has been writing book reviews and other articles for The New York Times since 1996 and has written the weekly computer Q&A column for paper since 1998. When not writing about computers, she sometimes writes about art, graphic design and pop culture.
