Mac OS X Innovators Update: Round 3
by Derrick Story
10/09/2003
The judging is over and winners have been notified in the third and
final round of the Mac
OS X Innovators Contest. The formal announcement will be made at
the O'Reilly
Mac OS X Conference, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003.
A special
presentation for Wednesday evening at the show will include past
and current winners, and each honoree will provide a brief update about
the status of his/her project. Then, after the updates, the entire panel
will field questions from the audience about how to develop award-winning
apps for the Mac.
So far, we have confirmations from:
- Brent
Simmons: First place, round one, NetNewsWire.
- Robb
Beal: Second place, round one, Spring.
- Gus
Mueller: First place, US category, round two, VoodooPad.
- Rogue Amoeba Software: Second place, US Category, round two, Audio Hijack
Pro. (Paul Kafasis and Quentin Carnicelli attending.)
Plus, we'll have the first and second place winners from both the US
and the International categories from round three joining the special event.
That means that there will be eight distinguished Mac developers all
sitting on one panel, available for questions and comments from conference
attendees.
After the presentations and panel discussion, ADC
will host a reception in the hotel mezzanine with a variety of refreshments
and munchies.
As with the previous rounds of the contest, we have a terrific lineup of new award winners with well-deserving applications. If you've
already registered for the Mac OS X Conference, then be sure save 6 p.m. on your Wednesday calendar for this event. If you haven't registered yet,
then you can do so right
here.
