Adobe GoLive Tip of the Week Create Tables Easily in GoLive 6

Edited by Derrick Story
06/07/2002

GoLive 6 provides an easy way to create HTML tables with customized dimensions.

  • Point your cursor to the Table object in the Basic section of the Objects palette and hold down the Command(Mac)/Control(Windows) key. While continuing to hold the CMD/CTRL key, drag out a table with the number of rows and columns you need. If you drag horizontally, then you get more columns; dragging vertically creates more rows.

  • Release the mouse button to place the new customized table at the current cursor position on the page.

  • If you have additional content on your page, and would like to place the customized table in a location other than the current insertion point, release the keyboard shortcut key and drag the table anywhere you want in your Web page.

Remember, tables, as with all HTML elements, default to the top left corner on a blank page. Watch the short QuickTime video below for examples.
