It’s almost summer again, so it’s time for students to figure out what to do with all that free time? Want to work in open source but need some scratch to keep you in ramen and Mountain Dew? Let Google give you a big bag of money to do it by participating in their third Summer of Code! Last year, students got $4,500 for their work in open source projects. This year that could be you.
The application period begin on March 14 and end on March 24. Coding runs from May 28 to August 20. Read more about it in the Google Summer of Code FAQ.
