Who would have thought a year or two ago that Facebook would become the first contender for the title of the most widely used Web OS (Operating System)? Certainly not me. CNET’s Chris Soghoian’s blog entry titled Five must-have security/privacy extensions for Firefox seems to have a Windows-centric point of view. But, I’m pretty sure the Firefox add-ons recommended apply equally well to a Mac OS X user (or Linux for that matter). Here are the Firefox add-ons he recommends: SafeCache, SafeHistory, Locationbar, NoScript, and CustomizeGoogle.

I just pre-ordered my copy of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. So, I’ll be checking to see how freeware and Open Source apps run on it as soon as I receive my shipment and upgrade my MacBook. If you get and install your copy before me, please let me know what your test results are like!
Wow, two FFOSS Fridays in a row with only two other blog entries (both by Todd)! And no dev articles in two and a half months. If things don't pick up on Monday with Leopard's release, I think I'll be deleting a bookmark...

i know filemaker is not open source...
but you'd think that they'd get it right
i use filemaker every day, have just bought leopard, only to discover filemaker says...

FileMaker Pro 9 Advanced generally run on Leopard although there are two known issues:
the Instant Web Publishing feature does not work

John: No offense detected or taken on my part. And, none would have been taken if anyone had mentioned that this list has been pretty short on actual Mac OS X apps lately, either. But, with a fresh copy of Leopard now installed on my MacBook, I'm hoping I'll find more stuff to feed it soon :-)
