Ok. So I spent my Friday night standing in line at an AT&T store and I come home and realize the iPhone WON’T EVEN WORK without being activated. So, I attempt to activate it and get a message “Your activation requires additional time to complete.” I then activate my wife’s phone and it just works. It has been almost a full 24 hours and my phone still isn’t working.
Anyone else in iPhone activation hell?

Nope! I have to admit I am a bit disappointed. I have called AT&T four times too. I guess this is pretty common as a friend told me his had the same problem. Plus there is a direct link from cnn.com to this blog which describes the problem
What rubs salt in my wound is that I activated two phones and my wife's phone just popped on it about 60 seconds. Of course, she won't let me play with it either....
Our iPhone activated in less than a minute; my brother-in-law's did not (at least not the phone part -- everything else worked fine). He took it to the Apple Store -- no luck. So he took it back to AT&T to return it for a refund. A manager took charge, called somewhere up the chain, et voila -- he received a call five minutes later on the iPhone tellnig him it was straightened out.
So, get thee to an AT&T store, I guess. Good luck.
I picked up my iPhone today and it activated in a couple minutes even though I transferred a number from another carrier. I am very happy I waited until today and avoided the crush.

Wow. I guess I got one of the iRocks. That name really fits this device. I love Apple, but wow. This was a big blunder...woops.

my iphone still isn't activated, i tried calling at&t, and i was on hold for like an hour. it is now july 1st at 11:24am, and i purchased my iphone on june 29 !!!!!!!! ANDDD ITS STILL NOT ACTIVATEDDDD !? ARGHHHHH
I just called up AT&& and canceled my activation...then did the activation again. I was up in like 1 minute. I wouldn't wait...but that is just me...
Got my phone today and can't get it to work. I can't get it activated, though I have done all it says. It's not worth it!! The sense of overwhlement!
omg. i got my Iphone and it will not connect to the itunes store. it starts to load but then stops right in the middle. grrr. ive tried everything!!!! anyone having the same problem? oh and i tryed calling apple and i was on hold for an hour then all they told me was the surver is probably busy. i mean gosshhhh. repost plzzz
Same thing is happening to me. It has been 6 days and they can't get my phone activated. My daughters was activated in minutes.
How did they get you up and running-my patience is running VERY thin.
Once up and running any further problems? Should I get a Blackberry?
