Wimps.
A swim of 5,572 km seems a bit long - it appears that Google Maps does not use Great Circle routing.
It might also be a shorter swim and a faster trip if you were to come ashore in Newfoundland, Canada. Likewise you might want to start your swim somewhere in Ireland or Scotland, rather than in Le Havre, France.
No google maps is correct! If you did the great circle you'd freeze your ass off swimming.
