I am staggeringly unimpressed by the news. “I don’t see what you’re so excited about. After all is said and done, you’re still stuck using a Windows machine.” I look meaningfully at my Mac.
The husband thinks for a while, grasping for reasons that this is a good thing. Finally, he replies, “Well, I can still do e-mail and web surfing on it!”
Yeah, and you're the one with the Phd. in Computer Science! Perhaps you could make his PC a member of a Grid to use those wasted CPU cycles on a good cause.
Besides the machine being a total waste of cash for obvious reasons, that 4.0 GHz processor is going to be slower than any solid AMD, G5, or Core CPU. Clock speed is so three years ago.
That 4.0GHz PC is environmentally irresponsible if he's going to be consuming all those watts just to read email...
