Remember a few months ago all the buzz and excitement about the iLuv recorder? You could stick your iPod into it, hook it up to video and record directly to the iPod. It was supposed to be out in early August. I just stopped by their site and all references to the device have now been removed. This reminds me a lot about the buzz about the ATO iSee, which according to their site eventually did appear.
Have any of you reader folk gotten a chance to look at, or play with, either device? How does it work and/or compare to other iPod video recording solutions?
I personally use a Neuros unit to record to memory card, then copy the video to the hard drive and sync through iTunes. The option of recording directly to the iPod and skipping the copy/sync steps sounds very appealing.

It sure does, especially for cam corders. The iPod changes so much as Apple makes changes, it's had on third pary companies. Hopefully something will show itself tommorow at WWDC.
I use a EyeTV 200 (analog) which has composite video inputs and will record directly into a iPod friendly format with the EyeTV software from DVD and VCR's and any other composite source.
You can also record TV shows and the like and then play them later on the iPod.
EyeTV 200 is a fireiwre 400 device (older ones are USB)
The EyeTV 500 only does digital HD channels without HDCP content protection. Like "free HD" over the air and via cable. No Aux. inputs on this device.
The iPod isn't the greatest thing for video, the screen is small, the quality on a TV is poor and cumbersome.
I use the MyVue glasses to watch video on the iPod, but only when I can't watch them on my big screen for some reason. (power outage, trips and long waits especially)
well, irecord (www.irecord.com), also allows you to record directly to your iPod, PSP or any other USB mass storage device. The best part is that it record H.264/AAC as opposed to MPEG4. which means the video quality is much better as compared to Neuros, or iLuv devices (both are MPEG4)
Then there is iSee, but the problem with iSee is, that video recorded by iSee can not be played via iPod, and the video quality is also not impressive.
bought the iluv in november and have not been ble to get it to work.can't get anything from their website and they won't respond. the software doesn't install on my mac either- very pissed off
