I thought/hoped I would have a shiny new Intel-based iBook/MacBook on order by this evening. But, it looks like the latest rumor (along with the April 1 Apple 30th anniversary non-event) fizzled. So, here’s my list of other dumb things to wait for while I continue to wait for a MacBook (or whatever it will be called)…
- Wait for a large(r) screen video iPod
- Wait for a Universal binary version of Microsoft Office for the Mac
- Wait for an Apple tablet (I’m hoping for a Star Trek PADD sized device :-)
- Wait for a more reasonably priced (Dot) .Mac subscription ($2.95/month anyone?) with more storage space
- Wait for an actual $500 UMPC (that new Microsoft Windows based Ultra Portable PC)
- Wait for Apple Quicktake 2006 digital camera with a 12x optical zoom in a business card form factor (ok, ok, this is just too off the chart…)
- Wait for people to stop giving my iBook an odd look when I walk into a meeting
- Wait for the Nintendo DS Lite in the US. Wait, this one has an actual official release date (June 11)! Phew. At least I know how long I need to wait for this one
- Wait for my Brain Age to drop to under 30 :-)
- Wait for the 3rd season of Battlestar Galactica to start
And not so dumb.... order a macmini. I am.

Got mine today! 17" MacBook Pro, 7200prm drive and 2 gig of memory. Now I have to wait 3 hours for the old notbook to sync with the new.
BTW quality seems a bit better. Tolerance on the lid is closer and there are rubber offsets to keep it from wacking the case. Screen looks oddly shorter with about double the bezel on the top edge - but a quick check says it is the same size. Screen is ok, but ever so slightly over bright on lower edge. Hard to tell more than that because I am still installing my old system. There is also a bit of rubber on the hinge (for grip? seems to be questionable).
Be productive on exiting PPC hardware and PPC software?

u should see the look on everyones face when I carry around my iBook G3 (clamshell, first special edition)!!
Why do all the reaons start with "Wait for ... " only to be immeadiately followed by something 1) that will never happen, or 2) that is just random babbling ?
