ActiveState, the firm known for developer tools like ActivePerl and ActivePython, is being spun off from Sophos and has some interesting developments for Mac OS X developers.
The ActiveState blog had an interesting announcement last month that I only took notice of today (ok, read it on Slashdot :-).
Two interesting items in the blog that may interest Mac OS X developers:
No worries — ActivePerl, ActivePython, and ActiveTcl are and will remain available, and will remain under development (look for a full set of OS X on Intel downloads soon!).
There are significant upgrades to existing products planned for the next year, which I’m confident our customers will love, just like they’ve been keen on some of our recent releases, like the Ruby-enabled, OS X-loving Komodo 3.5 release.
