CMP Techweb reports on the J.D. Powers U.S. mobile phone provider customer service rankings.
The relatively tiny T-Mobile USA scored the highest while two of the three largest providers (Cingular and Sprint PCS) scored at the bottom of the rankings.
- T-Mobile, 108
- Verizon Wireless, 104
- Nextel, 103
- AllTel, 100
- Cingular, 95
- Sprint PCS, 93
But, in an age when customer service seems to be going out of style (or at least not frequently found), does it matter anymore?
Some industry analysts tell us that only three large mobile phone service providers will survive going forward.
Sprint PCS has already bought Nextel.
So, the list above shrinks from 6 to 5.
So, who’s going to disappear in the next mega-merger?
And, what will happen to customer service then?
Who’s will be bought out next? T-Mobile USA or AllTel?
Let me back JD Powers Up on this one. My wife has had T-Mobile for about 2 years. No problems technically and when we have called customer service on minor billing issues, A OK.
Me, I have had Cingular for the same period of time. Billing problems and late fees because there auto-pay (automatic credit card payment) only seems to work periodically. When I have called to complain, they are indifferent to my problems.
This weekend. I switched to T-Mobile.
I HATE SPRINT - I spend more time on teh phone with them than i do my won family. I cold have paid my 400 overdue bill with tmobile paid the current sprint bill an dthe cancelation fee and stil lsaved money
they overcharge me all the time. i call in at least once a week to complain - and there temporary credit thing is a joke!!!!! charges that are waived reappear! Dont do it!

I work for Sprint and I don't even understand the temporary credit thing!! I agree, it is ridiculous! Don't Do It!
