You will need to authenticate to the web interface. Use 'tivo' as the username, and your 'MAK' (Media Access Key) as the password. Click here to obtain your MAK.
Apparently, the web interface allows you to download video (good news for those who don't want to have to use the TiVo Desktop software which requires Windows), but I haven't had the chance to try this yet. Yes, I do realize that extracting video from the TiVo is old hat for the hacking community, but this seems to be an interesting find nonetheless.
I am still waiting for the 7.1 update. You can use this form to request for the 7.1 update to be installed on your TiVo if you are interested.
