Sometime Inspiring....Sometimes just Funny

So we're working on Science and Math titles to branch out the Head First Family. Look for our first offerings there starting next year...and no I'm not going to be overly specific about when next year.

One of the places that I tend to send authors for inspiration...or sometimes when I think that they just need a break is http://xkcd.com . xkcd bills itself as: A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language.

Well I don't know about you - but heck...those are a few of my favorite things.

xkcd is the brainchild of Randall Munroe, a very smart gentleman who although lives in Boston like a few of the other Head First Editors; I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting. So if you're curious, and looking for an intellectually stimulating break in your day - take a spin over there, look around, and tell me if you think it's as funny as I do.

Disclaimer: Some of the themes of specific comics could be considered a bit risque, or potentially offensive - however these are in the minority. For the most part, the bulk of the comics are intelligent, thought-provoking, or just a little odd. Consider yourself warned.
