I was shocked to learn today that my alma mater, Virginia Tech, is now known as the site of the worst mass murder in US history. Tech is a great school, but will be forever marked because of this evil coward, whoever he is. I don’t know what else to say.

I sympathize with your grief at the worst school shooting in US history, and--you're right--there isn't really much to say. To clarify: it's neither the worst school massacre nor the worst civilian shooting (even apart from 9/11 and Oklahoma City). Sadly, it is the worst school shooting.
