I was playing with the recently re-released Mac build of Joost this evening and noticed the kind of bug that’s sure to infuriate content providers.

You’re looking at a screenshot from Joost’s National Geographic channel playing The Search For Kennedy’s PT-109. Unfortunately, the show is incorrectly labeled as Inside the Pentagon.

While I’m certainly not immune to editorial errors I suspect publishers of content will have very little patience for companies like Joost to make these sorts of mistakes with their brand.

Other than this minor bug, it’s a pretty faithful port of the PC version. Albeit, a bit buggier (likely due to the fact that this is v1). For instance, I noticed that switching between window sizes can cause floating windows to collapse in odd ways that can make the text unreadable. As a last note, I am looking forward to seeing Joost open up to the developer community. This could potentially turn out to be the most interesting part of the project.

UPDATE: the National Geographic channel on Joost now appears to correctly label The Search For Kennedy’s PT-109.
