Mellotron demonstrated for home use.

We all remember the Mellotron from the Strawberry Fields flute line.
"...always know sometimes think it's me..."

I had no idea it was such an ambitious, fancy, and musical machine, on top of being dang clever and cool.

See it demonstrated here by immensely stereotypical Brits.

But what does this tell us about Digital Media?
I guess we've had awesome samplers since 1948, but being analog, they didn't count.
And I guess the ones _we_ make are, um, lighter?

I do believe that at that time, in Great Britain, a "keyboard professional" was somebody who knew when to play a glissando and raise his eyebrows. In a way, this laid much of the groundwork for MTV.

You know, I enjoyed the “amateur” performance in this video as much as the “pro” one. As Jerry Garcia reportedly said after being informed that he’d won some kind of guitarist award, “Huh. I wasn’t aware that music was a competition.”

You probably knew I'd say this, Hugh, but...

There's a jam Thursday night, and an empty spot in the keyboard korner...BRING IT!!!

All I can say is "wow"! By the way, I have 2 mellotron samples in my Korg Triton, including the Strawberry Fields one, cant ever play it without hearing that song. Everyone should own one.
