I just bought an Insignia Pilot which uses the same Dynex Cable thing as the ipod Video....but all i had was an A/V Splitter and an A/V Cable (The ones with plugs on both ends for connecting DVD Players to tv). I first tried plugging it in as it should (by corresponding colors), and it didnt work. I was disappointed that i had to buy a $26 cable (or a bit cheaper on EBay). I had come across this article a few months ago, but it wasnt what i was looking for at the time. I tried it just now and it worked! Thank you soooo much. you just saved me some time and money :]

  I agree thanks a million for this article. I tried wiring up my own cable so i didn't have to purchase it from apple. The apple store is so over priced for such a simplistic gadget. I ended up getting retractable cable for half the cost. Works perfectly.

  Yo man how did you manage to buy what and hook it up the right way. I have a apple i-pod nano. Where did you buy the stuff to do it and can you tell, and teach me how???? PLEASE Thank You for your help. Ray
